Xanthia Lopez
Xanthia J. Lopez, is a Puerto Rican artist. She is a painter and muralist. For Lopez, art has always been a way of expressing what she feels, her cultural heritage, identity and community. Growing up in Queens and Brooklyn, Lopez, was surrounded by colorful murals, and that really inspired her to get into art. As fate would have if, years later, her first mural project was restoring that very same piece that inspired her artistic beginnings. Whether working on a canvas or painting a wall, Lopez tries to bring the same vibrancy and emotion into everything she creates. She wants people to feel something when they see her art whether it’s pride, joy, reflection, or just a sense of connection.
