Benjamin Taveras Gonzalez (They, she , he), is a Dominican-born and raised artist. Working primarily in oil painting and digital illustration, Taveras Gonzalez's practice is rooted in empowerment and cultural storytelling. Their work explores themes of Blackness, heritage, Queerness and visibility, serving as a vessel for ancestral voices and a celebration of Afro-Caribbean beauty and resilience. Each piece is both a personal affirmation and a broader invitation to honor and reimagine the rich legacies of the African diaspora in the Caribbean. Through their art, Ben seeks not only to reclaim space but to create it—for themselves and for all those who have been historically marginalized or silenced.
